BetterBLOX, a better Roblox extension for Chrome, Edge & Firefox

Roblox extensions add the polish roblox.com skips, and BetterBLOX is the free, all-in-one pick for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. It re-themes the whole site and adds server region selection, last-seen alerts, 3D avatars, trade tools and more, with no account and nothing gated.

Comparing Roblox extensions? BetterBLOX is the free, all-in-one pick, and it runs alongside RoPro or BTRoblox if you already use one.

Roblox dark mode

A proper dark theme for roblox.com

Roblox has no real dark mode of its own. BetterBLOX re-skins the whole site, from the home page and profiles to groups, games and the catalog, into a calm, high-contrast dark theme that is easier on your eyes and just looks better. It is the first thing most people notice, and it is on by default the moment you install.

Nothing is hidden and no data leaves your browser to make the theme work. On most pages you are looking at BetterBLOX's own version of the page rather than Roblox's, painted by the theme. Classic mode turns the rewrite off and leaves Roblox's pages in place.

Last seen & online alerts

See when friends were last online

Roblox tells you who is online right now, but not when someone was last seen. BetterBLOX adds a last-online time to profiles and can ping you the moment a friend hops on or jumps into a game, so you never miss the window to play together.

Free vs paid Roblox extensions

Some popular Roblox extensions lock their best features behind a subscription. BetterBLOX takes the opposite approach. The core tools on this page, from the dark theme and region selection to last-seen, avatars, trade and item info, are free forever, with no account required.

BetterBLOX Premium exists ($2.99/mo or $19.99/yr), and it unlocks the full theming web app and takes the ads out of our desktop apps. It never paywalls a tool you were already using.

Privacy & permissions

Exactly what the extension can touch

A browser extension asks for permissions before it installs, and you deserve to know what each one is for. Here is the whole list, in plain terms, and the one thing that leaves your device.

Access to roblox.com

Needed to restyle the site and drop the tools onto the pages you open. The extension acts only on Roblox pages, plus two hosts of our own — api.betterroblox.com and api2.betterroblox.com.

Local storage

Saves your settings, theme choice and — if you use the account switcher — your saved Roblox sessions, all on your own device. No web page can read them.

Cookies

Only for the account switcher. A saved session is captured and restored by the extension’s background worker, which is the one place a Roblox login cookie is ever visible, and it is never handed to a page.

Notifications

Desktop alerts for a friend coming online or joining a game, someone unfriending you, a new login on your account, a new message, and catalog items you are watching. Each one can be switched off.

Request rules

A fixed list of eleven third-party tracker and ad hosts is refused on roblox.com — no filter lists, no other sites, and Roblox’s own telemetry is left alone. The same permission sets a client user agent on the join request BetterBLOX makes for you, and blocks Roblox’s presence beat while you have your website status hidden.

Not your other tabs

No access to the rest of your browsing and no reading of your history. Background jobs do run, to keep last-seen and the server list current, and three of them contribute anonymous game and server data by default. All three can be switched off in settings.

Playtime and XP

Playtime does leave your device: it is sent to BetterBLOX to award XP and levels and to build the public leaderboards. Nothing else about your account goes with it.

We do not sell your data, full stop. If you want the specifics, our privacy policy spells it out, and our answer on whether BetterBLOX is safe covers the store review process too.

Built to be safe by design

A site enhancer should earn your trust, not test it. Here is exactly how BetterBLOX plays.

From the official stores

Installed only from the Chrome Web Store, Edge Add-ons and Firefox Add-ons, the same review process as any listed extension.

No data selling

BetterBLOX does not sell your data. The theme and tools run in your browser on the pages you already load; the only thing sent to us is your playtime, to award XP and build the leaderboards.

Never touches game code

It only changes how roblox.com looks and adds site tools. Nothing is injected into games, so nothing here is bannable.

Roblox extension FAQ

Is the BetterBLOX Roblox extension free?

Yes. The core BetterBLOX Roblox extension is completely free on Chrome, Edge and Firefox, with no sign-up needed to start. Premium ($2.99/mo or $19.99/yr) unlocks the full theming web app and takes the ads out of our desktop apps; every tool on this page works on the free version.

Which browsers does the Roblox extension work on?

BetterBLOX installs from the official Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons and Firefox Add-ons. It works on Chrome, Edge, Firefox and other Chromium browsers on Windows, Mac and Chromebook, anywhere you open roblox.com in a supported browser.

What is the best all-in-one Roblox extension?

The best all-in-one Roblox extension is the one that covers the tools you reach for most without asking you to pay for them one by one. BetterBLOX bundles a full dark theme, server region selection, last-seen alerts, a 3D avatar viewer, trade tools and item values in a single free add-on, and every feature has its own page if you want the detail.

What permissions does the BetterBLOX extension need?

BetterBLOX asks for access to roblox.com so it can restyle the site and add its tools, local storage to remember your settings, cookies for the account switcher, notifications for the alerts you turn on, and request rules to refuse eleven third-party tracker hosts on roblox.com. It does not read your other tabs, your history or your data on other sites, and it does not sell anything it sees.

Does BetterBLOX slow down roblox.com?

BetterBLOX redraws most of Roblox’s pages with its own faster versions rather than layering CSS over them, and that rewrite happens in your browser. If you would rather keep Roblox’s own markup, Classic mode leaves their pages alone and only adds to them.

Are Roblox extensions safe to use?

A Roblox extension that only re-skins roblox.com and adds site-level tools is safe, because it never touches game code. BetterBLOX ships from the official browser stores and does not sell your data. You can read more in our guide on whether Roblox extensions are safe.

Can you get banned for using a Roblox extension?

Cosmetic, site-level extensions that never inject into games or grant unfair advantages do not get you banned. BetterBLOX only changes how roblox.com looks and adds convenience tools, so it stays firmly on the right side of the rules.

Does BetterBLOX work on Mac?

Yes. The extension runs in your Mac browser. Because it lives in Chrome, Edge or Firefox rather than a native app, everything on this page works on macOS. See our Roblox on Mac page for the full breakdown.
