Pick your Roblox server region and see ping before you join
The BetterBLOX Roblox server region selector labels the running servers for an experience with the datacenter each one is in, and the ping Roblox reports for it, so you can pick a nearby server instead of whatever the Play button hands you. Free, right on the game page.

Datacenters, grouped by continent
Roblox runs datacenters on nearly every continent. Filter by continent below to see the list. In the live extension a server shows the round trip Roblox reports for the players already inside it, where Roblox reports one — a reading of their connections, not a measurement of yours.
Illustrative demo of the extension's preferred-region picker, which groups Roblox's datacenter locations by continent and remembers the one you choose. No BetterBLOX join path picks a server by region yet. Ping is a separate thing: the server browser shows it per live server, from the figure Roblox reports for the players already in it.
Join a smaller, closer server
The default Play button drops you into whatever server the matchmaker picks, which can be a full lobby halfway around the world. The BetterBLOX server list lets you sort the live servers for any experience by player count and region, so you can slide into a quiet server nearby instead.
- See the running servers for a game, not just the one the Play button picks
- Sort by player count to find a small or nearly-empty server
- Read a server’s datacenter, and the ping Roblox reports for it, up front
- Great for chill sessions, exploring, or low-lag grinding
More on this: how to join small or empty Roblox servers.
Lower ping, less lag, better multiplayer
Most Roblox lag isn’t your PC. It’s the distance between you and the server. Every Roblox multiplayer session runs on one specific datacenter, and if that datacenter is on another continent, your inputs take longer to land. Choosing a server in your region is the fastest way to cut that round trip and make fast-paced games feel responsive again.
Lower ping
Connect to the datacenter closest to you and watch your ping drop. No VPN, no router tweaks.
Less lag
A nearby, less-crowded server means smoother movement and fewer rubber-banding moments in multiplayer.
Server status at a glance
The per-game server list is your real server status: see which servers are live, how full they are, and where they run.
Works in the extension and the launcher
Region selection lives in the free Roblox extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. The Roblox launcher for Windows and Mac has a server browser that filters live servers by datacenter too, once you switch the server probes on in its settings.
Roblox server region FAQ
Ping, lag and region questions, answered straight.
How do I change my server region in Roblox?
Roblox has no built-in region picker, so you choose your region by choosing which server you join. BetterBLOX adds its own server list to the game page. It labels each server with the datacenter it is running in, and shows the ping Roblox reports for it where Roblox reports one, so you can hop into a nearby server instead of taking whatever the Play button gives you.
Why is my Roblox ping so high?
High ping almost always means you were placed on a server in a distant datacenter. If a North American player lands on a Frankfurt or Singapore server, their ping goes up no matter how fast their internet is. Picking a server in a nearby region is the single biggest fix for high ping in Roblox.
Does joining a closer server actually reduce lag?
Yes. Network lag is largely a function of distance to the server, so a lower-ping server in your region feels noticeably more responsive. Combined with joining a less-crowded server, choosing your region is the most reliable way to reduce lag without touching your hardware.
Can you see a Roblox server’s region before joining?
With BetterBLOX, yes. The list labels each server with its datacenter, and where Roblox reports a round trip for the players already in that server it shows that too. It is Roblox’s number rather than a measurement of your own connection, but it tracks distance well enough to pick a nearer server.
Is there a Roblox server status page?
Roblox publishes an official status page for platform-wide outages, but it will not tell you which individual game server is best for you. The BetterBLOX server list is the per-game view: it shows the live servers for the experience you are about to play, with the datacenter each one is running in and the ping Roblox reports for it.
