Roblox avatar editor: change your look, then see any avatar in 3D
The Roblox avatar editor is at roblox.com/my/avatar. Open it, click Avatar in the left menu, pick a category like Hair or Clothing, equip what you want, then save the whole look as a named outfit you can switch back to any time. That's how you change your own character. What Roblox won't do is let you inspect a look in full 3D before you copy it, and that's where the BetterBLOX viewer comes in.

How to edit your Roblox avatar
Roblox has its own avatar editor at roblox.com/my/avatar. It's where you change your character: swap body parts, try on clothing and accessories, and save the result as a named outfit. The walkthrough below is Roblox's own editor; BetterBLOX replaces that page with its version of it unless you turn the takeover off.
Open the editor
Sign in and go to roblox.com/my/avatar, or click your avatar icon and choose Avatar in the left menu.
Pick a category and equip
Choose a category like Hair, Clothing, Faces or Bundles, then click any item you own to equip it. Changes preview on your character instantly.
Save it as an outfit
Open the Costumes tab, choose Create Outfit, and name the full look. Switch back to any saved outfit from that list whenever you want.
Or let BetterBLOX take over
With the extension installed, the avatar page is BetterBLOX's own editor by default: the same equipping and outfits, plus a live 3D preview, try-on for items you don't own and PNG/GLB export.
Want to build a fit around items you don't own yet? Community outfit-makers like Catalog Avatar Creator let you try things on before you buy. For the official walkthrough, see Roblox's own Customizing Your Avatar guide.
A flat thumbnail becomes a real 3D render
Roblox shows one flat image on every profile. BetterBLOX swaps it for a live 3D render you can grab and spin, so you can see the back of a hat, how layered clothing sits on the body, and whether an accessory clips before you spend a single Robux recreating the look.
Spin it from every angle
Click and drag to rotate the avatar a full 360°. See exactly how a bundle, hat or bag looks from the side and back, not just the front the thumbnail shows.
See how layers really fit
Layered clothing, shoulder accessories and 3D hats sit differently in motion. A rotating render tells you what a static picture never can.
No app, no sign-up
The 3D avatar viewer runs inside your browser on roblox.com. There's nothing to download beyond the extension and nothing to log into.
Preview outfits before you copy a look
Every character render starts with an idea you saw on someone else's profile. When a profile lists saved outfits, load each one into the viewer, rotate it, and decide whether it's worth recreating, all before you open the catalog.
- Load any saved outfit into the same 3D viewer and spin it.
- Compare a player's current avatar against their older outfits at a glance.
- The profile viewer is read-only. It previews the look and never buys or equips anything; buying is a separate, explicit confirm inside the avatar editor.

Roblox 3D avatar viewer FAQ
Is this a Roblox avatar editor?
Both. On other people's profiles it's a viewer: rotate and preview any avatar or saved outfit in full 3D. On your own avatar page BetterBLOX replaces Roblox's editor with its own, which adds a live 3D preview, try-on for items you don't own yet, outfit management and PNG or GLB export. If you'd rather keep Roblox's stock editor, switch the avatar takeover off in settings.
Whose Roblox avatars can I view in 3D?
Anyone with a public profile. Open any player's profile in your browser and the flat avatar thumbnail becomes a 3D render you can spin. It works on your own profile, your friends' profiles and anyone whose avatar is publicly visible.
Can I preview a player’s outfits and not just their current avatar?
Yes. When a profile lists saved outfits, you can load each one into the 3D viewer, rotate it and see how the layered clothing and accessories fit together, useful before you try to recreate a character render of your own.
Does the 3D avatar viewer cost anything?
No. The 3D avatar viewer is part of the free BetterBLOX browser extension. Premium ($2.99/month or $19.99/year) adds the full theming web app, cosmetic perks and profile flair. Every core viewing feature stays free.
Will viewing avatars in 3D get me banned?
No. The viewer renders a public avatar inside your own browser. It never touches game code, never changes another account and never automates anything. It is a cosmetic, site-level tool, so it is safe to use on Roblox.
