How a Roblox trade works, and how to check it's fair
Roblox trades only work with Limited and Limited-U items, and both players need an active Premium (Roblox Plus) subscription with trading turned on. Any Robux added to a trade takes a 30% marketplace fee, and once both sides accept, a trade is final with no undo. The hard part isn’t the mechanics, it’s knowing whether a trade is fair. That’s what the BetterBLOX Roblox trade tools check: the RAP of every item on both sides, totalled, with a scam preview.
Free on Chrome, Edge & Firefox · Works on live trades
Illustrative demo — values are made up. In the extension each side is totalled from Roblox's own RAP plus any Robux offered, and an item with no RAP is counted as an at-least floor. Rolimons values are read by BetterLauncher on the desktop.
Spot a scam before you hit accept
Most trade scams work because the numbers are buried. Four small items on one side can quietly outweigh one big item on the other. The scam preview totals both offers and gives you a one-line verdict right in the trade window, so a bad deal jumps out instead of slipping past.
Both totals, side by side
Every item with a RAP on Roblox is counted into its side's total, and the two totals sit next to each other so the balance is clear. When an item has no RAP, the total is shown as a floor — "at least" — rather than a guess.
Fair, win or warn
A simple verdict (fair, in your favour, or lopsided against you) replaces the guesswork of eyeballing a stack of items.
Projected-item flags
Items whose value is being inflated get flagged, so a "projected" limited can't be dressed up as a fair-value piece.
RAP and trend on every trade
BetterBLOX pulls each item's RAP and the direction its price has been moving straight onto the trade window, so you're pricing the deal without leaving it. There's no tab-switching and no copy-pasting item names into a calculator. Community-estimated values are a BetterLauncher feature on the desktop, so RAP and trend are what the browser shows.
- RAP shown per item, on both sides of the trade.
- A price trend per item, so you don't overpay for one that's falling.
- Want a deep dive on one item? Check item values on its own page.
Stay ahead of trade scams
The tools do the math, but a few habits keep you safe on any trade. For the full playbook, see how to avoid Roblox trade scams:
Compare totals, not item counts
A stack of cheap items can look impressive and still be worth far less than the one item you’re giving up.
Watch for projected items
A "projected" limited has an artificially pumped value. Trust RAP and the price trend more than a headline value on those.
Never move a trade off-platform
Real Roblox trades happen inside the trade window. "Send it first" or third-party middlemen are the classic scam.
Take your time
Pressure to accept quickly is a red flag. The trade will still be there after you’ve checked the values.
Roblox trade tools FAQ
What is a Roblox trade scam preview?
A scam preview reads both sides of an open trade and shows you a plain verdict before you accept: fair, in your favour, or lopsided against you. BetterBLOX puts each item’s RAP on both sides and totals them, so a bad deal is obvious instead of hidden behind a pile of items.
Where do the trade values come from?
From Roblox’s own resale record, shown inline on the trade: each item’s RAP (recent average price) and the direction that price has been moving. Community-estimated values, like the ones Rolimons publishes, are read by BetterLauncher on the desktop rather than by the extension, so in the browser a trade is priced on RAP and trend. The demo on this page uses made-up numbers to show the idea.
Does BetterBLOX complete trades for me?
No. The trade tools only inform you. You always accept or decline every trade yourself on Roblox. There is no automation, no auto-accept and no bot; BetterBLOX just puts the numbers and the fairness verdict in front of you.
Do the trade tools cost anything?
No. RAP checks, trend hints and the scam preview are all part of the free BetterBLOX extension. Premium ($2.99/month or $19.99/year) adds the full theming web app, cosmetic perks and profile flair. Nothing about trading is paywalled.
Can trade tools get me banned on Roblox?
No. BetterBLOX replaces Roblox’s trades page with its own version of it and prices the deal from public numbers anyone can look up. You can accept, decline, counter and send from there, and each of those asks you to confirm first, so nothing moves without you. It never automates a trade and never touches game code.
