Do you need Premium to trade on Roblox?
Yes, you need Premium to trade on Roblox: Roblox keeps trading behind an active Premium subscription, and both players in the trade have to have it. You also need trading switched on in your privacy settings. Once that is set, trading is free to use, and free tools that total each side by RAP and preview scams layer on top to help you make good trades.
The Premium requirement comes from Roblox, so no extension can remove it. What BetterBLOX adds once you can trade is the Roblox trade tools: RAP totals on both sides of the window and a scam preview, all free. Roblox Premium is Roblox’s own subscription, separate from anything BetterBLOX charges for.
Premium is the gate to trading
Trading limited items is one of the perks Roblox reserves for Premium members. Without an active subscription, the Trade button simply does not appear on profiles, and any trade sent to you will not go through. Because it applies to both sides, a Premium player and a free player cannot trade with each other at all. If someone tells you a tool or a code trades without Premium, walk away, because that is a scam angle.
Turn trading on in your privacy settings
Premium alone is not enough if trading is switched off. Open Settings, go to Privacy, and set “Who can trade with me” to Friends or Everyone. Leaving it on No one is the most common reason a Premium player still cannot receive trades. Set it once and the Trade button shows up wherever you can trade.
Still can’t trade? Check these
If Premium is active and privacy is open but trades still will not send, the account may be too new to trade, or the specific item may not be a tradable limited. Regular catalog items and UGC without the limited tag cannot be traded, only bought and sold. Once every box is ticked and you can trade freely, the free item value tools make sure each swap is worth it.
Trading and Premium questions
Can you trade on Roblox without Premium?
No. Roblox limits limited-item trading to accounts with an active Premium subscription, so a free account cannot open a trade or receive one. This is a Roblox rule, not a paywall from any extension. If you have never subscribed, you will not see the Trade button on other players’ profiles at all.
Why can’t I trade on Roblox even though I want to?
The usual reasons are no active Premium, trading turned off in your privacy settings, or an account that is too new or not old enough to trade. It can also be the item itself, since only limited and limited-unique items are tradable. Work down that list and one of them is almost always the cause.
Does the other person also need Premium to trade?
Yes. Both sides of a trade need an active Premium subscription for the trade to go through, so a Premium player cannot trade with a free one. If a trade will not send, check that the other account is Premium too, not just yours.
How do you enable trading on Roblox?
Open Settings, go to the Privacy tab, and set “Who can trade with me” to Friends or Everyone. That, plus an active Premium subscription, is what turns the Trade button on. If you set it to No one, other players will not be able to send you trades even with Premium active.
