How do you play Roblox on a Chromebook?
You play Roblox on a Chromebook by installing the Roblox app from the Google Play Store, which most modern Chromebooks run through ChromeOS's built-in Android app support. You browse games, your avatar and your friends at roblox.com in Chrome, and the free BetterBLOX extension themes and upgrades that site right there on your Chromebook.
The same free browser extension behind Roblox on Mac runs on ChromeOS as well, so the website side of Roblox looks and works the same no matter which laptop you are on. The desktop apps are a different story, which is worth knowing before you go hunting for one.
Install Roblox from the Google Play Store
Open the Google Play Store on your Chromebook, search for Roblox, and install it like any Android app. ChromeOS runs it in its own window, and you sign in with your normal account. This is the supported way to actually launch and play experiences on a Chromebook. Once it is installed, you can pin it to your shelf and open games straight from the app or from a game page you found in the browser.
No Play Store? The school Chromebook catch
Plenty of Chromebooks, especially school-issued ones, have the Play Store turned off by an administrator. Without it you cannot install the app, and Roblox games need the app to run, so there is no honest workaround on a locked-down device. Many schools also filter roblox.com on their network. If both are open, you are fine. If they are not, that is a policy set by whoever manages the Chromebook, and no trick gets past it.
Theme and upgrade Roblox on ChromeOS
A lot of your Roblox time is spent on the website, browsing games, editing your avatar and checking friends. The free BetterBLOX extension installs in Chrome on ChromeOS and gives that site a clean dark theme, a server region picker, last-seen info and profile tools. The BetterLauncher and the BetterStrap bootstrapper are Windows and Mac desktop apps that do not run on ChromeOS, so the extension is the piece that fits a Chromebook.
