How do you uninstall Bloxstrap and go back to normal Roblox?
To uninstall Bloxstrap, close its tray app, remove it from Windows apps, clear its folder in %localappdata%, and let Roblox re-register its own launcher. Roblox stays installed the whole time; you are only peeling off the bootstrapper layer in front of it. The switch takes a couple of minutes and undoes itself if you change your mind.
None of this locks you in, which is the point. If you are leaving Bloxstrap to try something else, a cross-platform Roblox bootstrapper like BetterStrap just re-registers the launch handler for you, so trading one for the other is as easy as removing this one.
Remove Bloxstrap cleanly, step by step
- 1 Right-click the Bloxstrap icon in your system tray and quit it so nothing is running.
- 2 Open Settings, go to Apps, find Bloxstrap, and choose Uninstall, or run its own uninstaller if you kept it.
- 3 Delete the leftover folder at %localappdata%\Bloxstrap to clear its settings, FastFlags and mods.
- 4 Launch a game from roblox.com so Roblox takes back the roblox:// launch handler.
Re-register the normal Roblox launcher
Bloxstrap works by answering the roblox:// links that games use to launch. When you remove it, that handler needs a new owner. Most of the time Roblox claims it back automatically the first time you press Play on the website. If a game link opens nothing, reinstall Roblox once from roblox.com. That single reinstall restores the default launcher and you are fully back to vanilla.
Switching bootstrappers instead of leaving
Plenty of people who uninstall Bloxstrap are not quitting bootstrappers, they are moving to a different one. You do not need a full teardown for that. Installing a new bootstrapper points the launch handler at it, and if you want to be thorough you can quit Bloxstrap and clear its folder first. Because the whole thing is just a launch handler and a config folder, there is nothing permanent about the choice, and you can hop back whenever.
